From 2005-2007 the Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities ("CMBS") world experienced the greatest expansion since the creation of securitization. With a weak economy and scarce capital, huge loan losses are now projected as over $1 Trillion of loans are expected to mature. The complex structure of a CMBS pool amplifies the challenges in resolving this impending default problem. The lack of refinance capital and the virtual disappearance of the secondary market will require the implementation of creative strategies to overcome the hurdles ahead.
The panel will discuss the structure of a CMBS securitization and how loan sales and workout strategies will be different than with other lenders. The panelists, encompassing all aspects of the deal, will bring their expertise and experience to show you what you need to know, where you can get information, and how you can act upon it to do deals or save deals.
